Tower of Power ist eine 1968 gegründete US-amerikanische Funk-/Soul-Band. Gegründet wurde die Band von Tenor-Saxophonist Emilio Castillo und Bariton-Saxophonisten Stephen "The Funky Doctor" Kupka. 1970 unterschrieben Tower of Power einen Plattenvertrag bei San Francisco Records und veröffentlichten noch im gleichen Jahr ihr erstes Album "East Bay Grease". "East Bay Grease". 1972 erschien "Bump City" und 1973 "Tower of Power", die beide zum Durchbruch der Band führten. Seitdem veröffentlicht die Band durchgängig neue Platten und ist bis zum heutigen Tag immer noch regelmäßig auf Tour.
