Slash is a living, still very active legend of rock music. He is the former lead guitarist of Guns N ''Roses, the most successful rock band of the late 80s and early 90s, one of the busiest musicians in the scene.
For a real guitar God Slash - civil Saul Hudson, born on 23 July 1965 in England, and since 1977 in Los Angeles home - started late with the learning of the instrument. He was already 16 when his first acoustic guitar was given to him. What he had missed in years of practice, he took vehemently: He was rehearsing up to ten hours a day and threw for his passion even the school away.
Slash left Guns N ''Roses in 1996 due to personal differences with Axl Rose. Two years earlier he had founded Slash''s Snakepit, with whom he released two internationally acclaimed albums. Slash''s powerful, often blue-driven sound finally emancipated itself from Guns N ''Roses. In 2002 he formed with former Guns N ''Roses-combatants Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum, the former Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland and Dave Kushner, former guitarist of Suicidal Tendencies, Velvet Revolver. Her two albums, "Contraband" and "Libertad" reached the top five of the U.S. and the top ten in the UK charts.
Slash is the only living musician for who the legendary Marshall Amplifier manufacturers created their own signature series. The guitar maker Gibson has even three Slash signature models in the catalog.
