Das Wave Quartet wurde von Bogdan Bacanu, einem international gefragten Marimbasolisten und dem jüngsten Universitätsprofessor seines Fachs weltweit, 2008 zusammen mit seinen Kollegen Christoph Sietzen (Preisträger beim ARD-Wettbewerb), Emiko Uchiyama und Vladi Petrov gegründet.
